From Acquisition Chaos to a Unified Global Communication System

After a series of acquisitions splintered culture across 20 offices and 11 countries, a new intranet became the operational fix that also happened to unify the culture.

Challenge

Brought in as an embedded communications advisor following a series of acquisitions, I found that EVO Payments had never implemented an intranet. Information was scattered across disconnected platforms; teams across 20 offices in 11 countries and 7 languages were siloed, and there was no single place for employees to find what they needed or feel connected to a newly combined company.

Approach

I led the operational and communication strategy behind a centralized intranet build: engaged leadership and teams across the organization to understand real pain points, identified and selected the right platform, led vendor implementation and content migration, and built internal partnerships to translate content into all 7 native languages. Benchmark measurements and ongoing goals were established from day one, so the system stayed accountable after launch — not just at rollout.

Results

  • Replaced a fragmented, acquisition-era patchwork with one system of record spanning 20 offices, 11 countries, and 7 native languages.

  • Reduced the time employees spent searching for information, replacing scattered platforms with a single, centralized source.

  • Delivered measurable operational cost savings by consolidating multiple disconnected tools into a single platform.

  • Fostered a unified culture across a newly merged, multilingual, globally distributed workforce, increasing celebratory moments and overall employee satisfaction.

  • Established benchmark measurements and ongoing goals from day one, so the system stayed accountable to real usage and adoption after launch — not declared a success at rollout and never checked again.

Why This Matters

This is the same pattern that shows up at a very different scale in the Embarc diagnostic and my own Context Layer work: fragmented information isn't just an inconvenience — it's an operational and cultural cost. Fixing the information architecture fixed both at once.
